I’m a student. Can I hire a sitter or tutor?
Yes, undergraduate, graduate and professional students at Northwestern who are parents can use the network to find childcare.
Can Sitters and Tutors Network members change their name or photos?
No, the photos are pulled in automatically and will be the picture from your Wildcard. Names are also pulled in from the Northwestern directory. There is the option to remove your photo once you set up your profile.
Do the tutoring services include lessons?
Yes, tutoring services cover traditional tutoring as well as test prep and lessons (music, dance, etc.).
How do I reach out if I’m interested in a job listing?
The job listing will have the job poster’s Northwestern email address. You will reach out via email.
How do I reach out if there’s a sitter or tutor I’d like to hire?
The sitter/tutor profile will have the student’s Northwestern email address. You will reach out via email.
What should I do if my child has special needs?
On the job listing you can specify what the needs are as well as the skills the candidate must have to support those needs.
What if I find a job? What can I do with my sitter/tutor profile?
Once you have found a job, you can remove your profile from public view. If you don’t plan on using the Sitters and Tutors Network application again in the future, you can close your account. Instructions on how to close your account can be found on the Account Help page under the My Account menu.
What is the relationship between this service and Care.com?
Northwestern will still be offering Care.com subscriptions. The Northwestern Sitting and Tutoring Network application is just an additional way of finding sitters and tutors.
I’m a student and I signed up to for sitting/tutoring but now I’d like to change my settings to include finding sitters/tutors, how do I go about doing this?
You can use the Account Help page under the My Account menu to get information on updating these settings.

No, only students can create sitter/tutor profiles.
